About The Rustic Rose

We are many….  blessed with 8 amazing children. Spanning 40 to 20 yrs, we have lots of history! Moving to Iowa from Colorado in 1998, we landed our perfect home, a century-old farmstead that had been restored from ruin with an eye to preserving history and beauty. Included was the “Big Red Barn” that boasts of a colorful heritage. The local carousel was restored within its walls. Endless amounts of hay forts, rope swings from the loft and parties added stories. Our family favorite?? …hosting parties. After the echoes of laughter, political speeches and country music died down, we felt a deep sense of satisfaction as we shut down the lights. Memories were created, friendships sealed and milestones celebrated inside those historic walls. After losing our fearless leader, husband, and father, Scott, in 2014, to cancer, dear friends toiled beside us and together we created our current breathtaking venue. In memory of Scott, we invite you to celebrate and create your memories in our Rustic Rose. He was passionate about affecting generations to come through family and faith. Is it not true that celebrations serve to anchor these pillars of society?
